The SGIA (Specialty Graphic Imaging Association) Expo, the largest trade show in print and imaging technology in North America, took place in Las Vegas (United States) from 18 to 20 October last year.
The Golden Image Competition is known around the world as the most prestigious competition to recognise printing excellence and innovation. Every year it honours excellence in the imaging industry, covering virtually all products no matter how complex.
Hundreds of entries were evaluated by expert judges, who awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze ribbons to the best prints in each category. A final “Best of Show” prize is awarded to one of the winners of the Golden Ribbon for the excellence of their work.
This year’s winners included 2 screen-printed works on ARCHES® paper:
“Mountain” by Swiss artist Conrad Jon Godly, printed by screen printer Lorenz Boegli (Atelier für Siebdruck) on white Velin BFK Rives® 300 gsm paper, received the Golden Ribbon (Fine Art category) and the “Best of Show” award.
“Miss Japan”, also printed by Lorenz Boegli on ARCHES® 88 paper won the Silver Ribbon in the same category.
